About There are many types of sound in the world; loud, quiet, sudden and not so sudden, sharp, flat and piercing. And of the many sounds there are, a ringing phone was the one that would be the first of many. From the carcass of Welsh Prog punk pioneers Jarcrew, former bassist and multi instrumentalist Ben Milner decided it was time to make some new noise. Enlisting the duties of fellow school sufferer Rob Hopkins on the low end. They assembled the bare ingredients needed for the first steps toward finding a new band and some big fat riffs while they were there, two guitars, recording gear and patience! In the time it would take to produce and develop a mid budget Asian horror movie, drummers and guitarists were played with and ultimately wished well on their way, something didn’t feel quite right. Until that is, Milner’s Lithone bandmate and widely regarded Emperor of percussion Marc Bond took a trip to the little shed on the prairie and thankfully hasn’t left since. But there was a drafty, moist and vacant space where our lead guitar player should have been standing. Much debate ensued until that is a man named Bond saved the day. Recommending a friend from Swansea who was known for infant strangling levels of guitar abuse, a man who according to myth; cooked up thick gauge strings in a spoon and injected that sweet sugar into his playing arm to improve his ‘chug’, he was in. So with guitar junkie and Dublin native Jay McCreary completing the line up, the sound of change was ringing in everyone’s ears, the men were ready, the band was FluFF TonGue.
