Back in 2002 North Sea Radio Orchestra were born in the lanes and alleys of the City of London, playing, in dusty old churches, a kind of chamber/alternative classical/folk high-Victorian hybrid music. Then escaping the City to play various festivals, arts establishments, 6Music sessions, venues of all kinds whilst releasing three studio albums to great critical acclaim.
They like to play in churches and enjoy the resonant acoustics and the lack of amplification. Art galleries suit them fine too. They like to play festivals like The Green Man, Frome Festival or the City of London Festival. They enjoy performing in rock venues and opera houses with amplification or classical stages like the Purcell Room. Likewise they are not adverse to performing live for BBC6 Music or Radio2.
Now after a 4 year break they return with their fourth album 'Dronne'.
NSRO will be promoting 'Dronne' with shows across the UK in the Autumn including Acapela Studios where their sound and unique musical style is sure to be beautifully displayed at the venue.
