ARTHUR EBELING... ROCK 'n ROLL STAR FROM AMSTERDAM PERFORMING WITH UK's CHRIS QUINN
Two superb guitars & voices playing a timeless & catchy mix of Rhythm 'n Blues, Swing, Rock 'n Roll & Soul... in a jazzy sauce!
We are thrilled to have secured a performance with Arthur Ebeling... a VERY entertaining, eccentric & talented artist, teaming up with his long-time UK musical buddy, the incredibly versatile, Chris Quinn.
Known in music circles as 'a bit of a character' (!) & for his entertaining performances, Arthur Ebeling is nevertheless VERY serious about his music. Endorsed by the famous 'Gretsch' guitar company, he is one of their 'flag-ship' players, recognised worldwide as one of the best exponents of the famous Gretsch 'sound' & one of the most authentic performers of 50s/early 60s rock 'n roll. His guitar playing is completely unique, sounding like a mix of Chet Atkins & Eddie Cochran, with jazzy embellishments & some Latin thrown in for good measure! Blessed with a bluesy voice to match, it's easy to assume that Arthur Ebeling is from New Orleans rather than Amsterdam!
A long established recording artist with eight CDs to his name (including many original songs), Arthur Ebeling has made numerous television appearances, toured all over the world & opened shows for artists like Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Ann Peebles and Joan Armatrading. He has even performed with the legendary Scotty Moore... Elvis Presley's first (& best!) guitarist!!
"With Ray Charles, Arthur Ebeling shares his soul, with Tom Waits his rawness & with Eddie Cochran his Rock'n Roll. He is one of the best guitarists of our country" (Amsterdam Telegraph)
Alongside Arthur will be Shrewsbury based singer songwriter Chris Quinn, who has been receiving glowing reviews in the mainstream UK music press for his debut solo release "Across The Divide". Maverick Magazine named him "A Master of the Acoustic Guitar & a quality Songwriter". Chris Quinn has carved his trade for over a decade touring worldwide, taking in shows at venues like BB King's in New York, Cambridge Folk Festival, London's Royal Albert Hall & had a stint as the opening act for the Jools Holland Orchestra.
When not playing his own brand of solo acoustic folk & roots music Chris performs regularly with some of the world's finest gypsy jazz guitarists, most notably as a regular member of the Robin Nolan Trio & with gypsy legends Paulus Schafer & Mozes Rosenberg. Over the past few years Chris has shared the bill & been invited to open shows for some of the biggest names in music; artists like Katie Melua, The Levellers, Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman & Loudon Wainwright III.
