midgard music have decided that you, the musician, needs an area to perform and practice without costing you an arm and a leg...or even a police visit.
situated in the enterprise zone in the morriston area, we are able to offer you easy access and no volume constraints (within reason).

hi guys,
please can you help me and take 2 minutes to anwser the questions below - just simple 1 word anwsers will do. it will help us in our attempt to open a new practice room.
1 - where is your band based
2 - how far would you travel (proposed building is in pontypridd)
3 - how much do you pay now (and for how long)
4 - do you take your own stuff or pay to use stuff there (drums etc)
5 - does the room have acoustic treatment
6 - how many times a month do you practice
please send a quick email, even if its just to show your support - we need this to help with the plan for our bank and i know the place we have planned will be an amazing room to practice in.

for those of you that have read the blog you will all know about our recent incident with the flyaway roof..
all joking aside the damage was awful and the aftermath of this event has set in quicker than even i thought it would.
we have today been informed by the owners that..toms rock bar is now closed for re-roofing and full refurb.. we are totally gutted as we didn´t see this coming so soon, we were hoping to give notice to the bands and promoters that were booked in at least until the end of the month. we were hoping to be able to to have at least one massive party to end one more chapter in the toms saga before the next chapter started.
what can i say to you all.. i knew nothing about this until earlier today. as for the rest of the day, i´ve been trying to find out reasons and any other optio..

"you should have recieved a freind request from raven shows and bookings, if not add them yourselves..
we will soon be handing most of our gigs over to them..
i will still have some contact with them as i do some pr/ scouting work with the company, but due to circumstances beyond my control i cannot continue to run the venue and be the promoter for 4/5 nights a week , as i have done it for the last five years and yes it is getting too much for me..
i will still own the venue
i will still put on my own shows
all gigs already booked are still fine, they may have a new promoter, but they are still all confirmed
i will still be working with the current promotes ie cat corpse, penguin, lost in bass, intoxicated, incarceration, and rav..

the point is under threat of closure due to impending court action by cardiff council over noise emitting from the venue and disturbing some of our new neighbours.
whilst we are doing everything we can to resolve the issue, we do need you to register your support for this great venue and keep live music alive in cardiff - and maybe politicians and the council will take notice and work with us to get it fixed.

all musicians, poets, bands in fact all performers welcome! special guests too!
we will endeavour to give everyone a chance to play on the night, however, where this is not possible, we will pre-book a slot for the following week.

firstly a massive thank you to all the bands, djs, promoters, artists, and punters who supported callaghans over the past 4 years. unfortunately due to business descions beyond the control of callaghans management the venue is now no longer open as a music venue. it is now a hotel sports bar. this is shit i hear you say, dont worry the management at callaghans have teamed up with some of the best promoters in cardiff and have put a new club together for all your needs.

on sunday may 4th 2008. we will holding a charity tribute night in memory of tigertailz bassist pepsi tate who passed away from pancriatic cancer late last year.
bands already confirmed are the hangers, toxikk shoxx,the love vandals,sanction,the happenin & faith no more tribute "angel dust" more acts are to be confirmed very soon.
all proccedes from the evening will go to marie curie hospice in penarth where he spent his last days.
tickets are £3.00 on the door.
we hope to see as many people as possible attending to raise as much money as possible for the charity.
