| About | S.E.X. are rightly known as Welsh underground rock legends. Lead by OTT singer/composer and frontman Phil Jones, the band plays unique and original rock with a twist. In addition to being able to pull a classic cover version out of the bag when needed, the emphasis is strongly on Phil and the band's original material.
Formed in 1985, the band have built up an impressive back catalogue that includes 8 studio albums, 20 singles and EPs and a brand new compilation album! Career highlights include:- Two entries in the Australian Radio Charts. A early publishing deal in France, Belgium and Switzerland. London performances in the Marquee, Covent Garden and The Royal Standard. Radio airplay in Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland, the US and Gibraltar. Over 2000 (!) gigs including supporting legends such as Wishbone Ash, Hawkwind, Eddie and the Hotrods, Glen Matlock, The Damned and Roy Harper. The first S.E.X. release was the cassette only EP 'Lost Virginity' on January 19th 1985. It went on to sell over 1000 copies at gigs alone! In 2008 S.E.X. toured Japan and on 10/07/2009 released their 8th album entitled 'Scurlage And Jowl'. This album, together with the new 'Sorry I Loved You...' best of CD, is currently available at gigs and online via Gemm.com & Discogs.com. On April 17th, 2012, the new limited edition CD EP 'Before September' is released. Check the band's MySpace page for up to date details. |
